Geek Road Trip - Philadelphia to Seattle - June 23 to July 30

Day 27: Phoenix, AZ

July 22, 2010 23:39 by SteveAndrews

Yesterday I left Albuquerque, NM and headed west to Phoenix, AZ. Along the way, I stopped at the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert National Park and did the whole 29 mile driving tour. I took over 200 pictures, and it was pretty neat.

Tonight I spoke at the Southeast Valley .NET User Group in Chandler Arizona on ASP.NET Deployment with the Web Deployment Toolkit. The meeting took place at Gangplank HQ, a completely free co-working location. It was neat to learn about their facility and their partnerships with local government.

I also got to hang out with some friends in the area including Joe Guadagno, Rachel Reese, Chris Coneybeer, and meet some new folks as well. As well I stayed with Jim (uncle) and Jill (aunt) in their gorgeous downtown loft. This weekend I will be heading up to their cabin in the mountains for a little relaxing. Sunday I am off to North Las Vegas Nevada for an evening and then to San Francisco California to speak at the Bay.NET user group.
