Geek Road Trip - Philadelphia to Seattle - June 23 to July 30

Day 15: Little Rock, AR

July 10, 2010 12:27 by steveandrews

Today I left Randy Walker’s house in Northwest Arkansas and headed down to Little Rock to speak at the user group there.

It was an eventful drive with more torrential rain, an accident not involving me, and some guy wearing an old pizza hat pointing to a sign on the passenger window: “Have you seen my baseball?” There is also apparently a Knoxville Arkansas; I became concerned I had made a serious navigation error and encountered a time/space warp that took me to Tennessee in the course of an hour. That would have been disastrous for the road trip hence why I try to avoid the time/space warps.

This evening I spoke on “Testing Web Applications with Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate”. I must have the greatest luck ever because once again the attendees were wonderful and engaged. Maybe I should just stay on tour?

Also in the news today I learned that Elijah Manor, jQuery expert extraordinaire, lost his job. If you are looking for serious jQuery talent look no further.

Tomorrow I will be heading to Dallas, TX to present “Visual Studio Tips and Treats” at the Connected Systems group. I’m looking forward to visiting Texas as I’m a big country music fan and I’m sure Texas is all country music and pickup trucks and sexy cowgirls and cowboys wrangling cattle and gunfights and also unicorns.
