Today I drove back across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama to speak in Mobile at the Lower Alabama .NET User Group. The drive was uneventful, though the signs of the oil crisis in the Gulf are more and more apparent. There are billboards up on I-10 advertising legal council for oil crisis victims, and I passed an 18 wheeler apparently carrying inflatable booms. It was also on everyone’s mind, and folks aren’t happy.
On the plus side, last night was also the first night in a long time that I was able to get a satisfactory internet connection at a hotel. Thanks Red Roof Inn! I also realized it was time for a shave and a haircut; I’m not in Seattle yet.
I enjoyed speaking at the Mobile group, they were an engaging group that liked to laugh, and they even told me I did a great job. I know, right?
