Geek Road Trip - Philadelphia to Seattle - June 23 to July 30

Day 4: Columbia, SC

June 30, 2010 13:56 by SteveAndrews

Today I had a great lunch with Alan Stevens and Mike Neel before leaving Knoxville and heading south. I’m excited to see what’s in store for these great guys in the future!

My trip took me through some beautiful country including the Cherokee and Pisgah National Forests. I wish I could have stopped to take some pictures, but I didn’t have much time to spare.

This evening I spoke at the Columbia Enterprise Developers Guild on T4. It was an engaged and friendly crowd, though slightly smaller since South Carolina was beating UCLA in the College World Series. Afterwards I had some good barbeque with Chris Eargle, friend and president of the user group.

There were a lot of cool signs and sights on the road today:

So much for the secret lair, eh Batman? The rolling foothills of South Carolina. Whee!

Respect. I like South Carolina. At this point, I could tell I was on the right track making a left turn.

The evening ended watching Hot Tub Time Machine with Chris and his wife.

Tomorrow I am off to Augusta, GA to speak at the Augusta Developers Guild on the Web Deployment Toolkit (MSDeploy).
